Here at Equal Pay for Equal Work, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We believe that gender equality and equal opportunity among gender, races are a matter of simple fairness. Our network "A voice for gender equality" advocates in order to fight end gender bias and close the income gap.
PAY EQUITY
Throughout the constant battle women face in the workplace in regard to equal pay, women have made tremendous strides to bridge the pay gap. Since as early as the 1960s, the gap has narrowed to reach the point at which women are payed 80% of what men are as of 2016 for women of color, the gap is significantly wider. The wage gap has remained even though there have been numerous legislations in order to overcome employment inequality and discrimination; such as the passage of the Equal Pay Act in 1963 and the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009. Women even today are not receiving equal pay for equal work.
